Val Posey is the Co-Founder and Managing Member of Pink Tie Promotions LLC and enjoys painting the town pink with beautiful fine art and highly acclaimed exhibit and educational services that enhance the quality of people’s lives. Her company’s goal is to ensure that customers get the “best” art and services that make “more is more” moments in their lives, homes, office areas, and centers of learning and worship.
Her company specializes in Contemporary Art created by award winning artists that’s fit for kings and princes. Collectors include Chief and Mrs. Akin-Davis in Lagos, Nigeria; and Prince and Mrs. Lekam Fadina in Otta, Nigeria (Jide Aje). Commissions include Anheuser Busch for the Budweiser Great Kings and Queens of Africa Cultural Heritage Program (Jonathan Knight); the W.K. Kellogg Foundation for an award presented to the Asian American Federation in New York (Marion C. Martinez); and the National Black United Front-Kansas City and Reginald Davis, Esq. (Val Nsenga Posey).
More collectors of her company’s artists include Hallmarks Cards (Adrienne Patel and Jonathan Knight); the famed Schomburg Collection in New York City (Adrienne Walker Hoard); BP Amoco (Marion c. Martinez); and Dr. Bertram Caruthers and Kenneth Krakauer (Val Nsenga Posey). Museum representation includes the Nerman Museum of Contemporary Art, the Lagos National Gallery of Modern Art, Fort Lauderdale Museum of Art, Spencer Museum, Santa Fe Museum of International Folk Art, and the Albrecht-Kemper Museum.
Besides creating fabric paintings and batiks, what Val loves to do is to see people win. Her company’s Art Exhibit Services do just that for grand openings and special events through installations that spotlight and support the best local talent. Her company’s workshops for young people create lots of wins, too, through objectives that are heavenly influenced by Val’s 17+ years’ experience in managing three properties totaling 566 apartments and townhomes; her 35+ years of teaching art and/or English in schools, grades K - 12, two juvenile detention facilities, and three care centers for abused and hard-to-reach children; and her 18+ years’ experience as the 4th Grade Lead Teacher for Sheffield Church Sunday School.
(By the way, Val considers teaching an art form, for it provides lots of creative opportunities to help young people excel in discovering, multiplying, and valuing their own skills. The media: lessons carefully chosen and crafted to elevate and celebrate the gifts and talents of every single student; lessons designed to inspire students to appreciate and care about themselves, supplies, time, their current environment, and others; lessons designed to increase patience and self-control; and lessons that increase intelligences, critical thinking skills and the knowledge of why some things are better than other things. What Val sees in her students are generations of amazing talent that can fill every career cluster—and careers not yet invented.)
Two references dear to Val’s heart are by an art teacher and a high school student, respectively. “Ms. Posey, I am amazed at what you can get from these children.” “My art teacher is the only reason why I come to school”.
Other honors Val has received include a Community Service Award from Niles Home for Children in 1983; being elected Residential Manager of the Year by Chapter 15 of the Institute of Real Estate Management in 1988, the same year her company was born; being designated as “A Real Winner in Cultural Arts” by the Missouri Lottery Commission, the mayor of Kansas City, and the county executive of Jackson County; and receiving a Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Woman of Courage Award in Arts and Letters.
As an advocate for the arts and children these organizations are dear to Val’s heart because of the HUGE differences they are making in the lives of children and teens: ArtsTech, The Rabbit hOle Museum, Scholastic Art and Writing Awards Program; and the Parent Leadership Training Institute (of which she is a 2021 alumna).
In the works are plans to present this company’s signature community-wide event, the Children’s Art Fair and Festival (CAFF), within the next 2 years. With over 24 art workshops and venues that will include six states, this event is the biggest of its kind in this region and country! Stay tuned for details on how you and your company or organization can be a part of this exciting opportunity for children and teens to thrive.
Indeed, there’s no shortage of ways for companies, organizations, and individuals to collaborate with Pink Tie Promotions LLC. Val has lots of ideas for beautiful and large-scale projects that put people in the pink of things. You’re invited to enrich your living, work and learning spaces with her company’s art and creative services.
